On the homefront

What I am doing:

I had a fencing guy come measure the lot so I can get a quote for fencing. I will call him today, since he came on Saturday and I still have no emailed quote....

I bought a fireplace mantel off of eBay that is very similar to one that Ethan and I looked at a month or so ago and he really liked.....but this one is 1 foot longer (Woohoo!! Hard to find!!), we wanted a longer one, so this is great.

I am off to Costco after work today to get some pictures printed to complete the fireplace wall--one of them printed too big last time and looked funky in the frame. We will have a nice, put-together wall when Ethan comes home!!

Mom agreed to move the lawnmower from the hook on the wall to the center of the garage so I can be ensured of it being spider free. The lawn desperately needs to be mowed. It had all died off with the dryness of this summer, and was brown and ucky, but SHORT, but now that it is rainy again, it is all sprouted up again. Dammit......We are gonna (me) rip it all up and smooth the area out to make 2 or 3 sort of levels with a patio and some nice plants of my choosing with wood chips (the teeny ones, not the big ugly ones at the street right now).

Mom also agreed to move the carcass of the spider Ethan killed before he left (it was enormous, we saw it on the back wall of the garage as we opened the door and the headlights of the car hit it.) Enormous. Ethan whacked it with a piece of wood, and it is lying there and it really scares me. Hopefully mom will move it somewhere when I am NOT there to see.

AND...Boo is puking again, so I will get him new food to try. He refuses to eat the healthy food I bought that is non-pukey, so I am going to try different ones until I get to one that works. It is totally food specific--I gave him some soft food yesterday that he had not had before, and he puked within the hour. Definitely related. Does okay with the healthy soft food, but does not like it much. Still working on it........poor little guy. He doesn't have enough body weight to be puking that much!!

Yours is electric, right? The mower? I'll happily mow the lawn!I actually enjoy that chore and I'm curious how an electric mower would work!
ALSO.. perhaps we should bug bomb the garage while we are there?

Is Mom there right now? When is she coming? The same time Sabrina is? A little confused by that post.... I didn't think she'd be able to visit on weekdays or I'd sign up to have her down here on the weekend of the 26th. I'm teaching my first class at our cooool scrapbook store on the 26th! But it's a Thursday night.

No, mom is coming up with Sabrina....we talked via email........

AND...I too enjoy mowing the lawn. Just don't feel like braving the bugs to get to the mower.

AND...we can't bomb the garage until we figure out how to shut off the gas, since we really don't want to blow up the garage, and bug bombs tend to be a bit flammable. Working on that.....

I'm grabbing Mom on my way up to play with the kiddies on the long car trip! Plus she really hasn't "met" Kael... at his birth and she saw him when I headed up for Papa's wedding but he slept/ate the whole visit so she didn't really get to spend any time with him.

A: I had NO idea bug bomgs were flammable! I was gonna bomb this house soon as the beasties are moving in for the fall.. but we have Gas heat too and have that pilot light on in the fireplace! Good heads up!
