Ethan and I at the start of our canal cruise

Chicken satay with peanut sauce

Our tour ended up back in Amsterdam mid-day. We wandered around some more, picked up our laundry, and had lunch at a great people-watching spot in another of Amsterdam’s many squares. More and more wandering and exploring, then we headed up to Centraal station to catch a canal boat for an evening wine and cheese tour.

Our tour was very nice. We saw all the major canal-side sights in Amsterdam, including the smallest house in Amsterdam and numerous beautiful buildings, both commercial and residential.

As the tour ended, it started to rain. Boy, was I glad I finally bought a rain-proof coat!! I have lived in Seattle for 13 years now, and did not have a waterproof coat until I bought one for this Europe trip. Ethan was not wearing his raincoat, and got a bit soaked, as did my legs. We hustled as quickly as we could back to our room, and changed into dry clothes and went to bed.

Love that bottom pic! Are those condos/apartments? Or is it a place of business?
